As Geotechnical Engineers and Geologists we spend lots of time analysing geotechnical data and generating the visualisations we need to explain risks and requirements on our project. 2D section diagrams are a great and intuitive way to explain concepts in a way others on the project would understand. When using Autocad, ArcGIS and other software not specialy built for the purpose of cutting these sections the process was time consuming and painful.

We explain the process in 3 easy steps:

1. Add boreholes to your private map

Either upload AGS data or upload Geotechnical report PDF's, our AI technology will extract the description and test data from the geotechnical reports and generate a borehole on your map.

2. Select the 2D section tool and draw your section

Simple draw a line between two points and we will automatically generate the section for you, we initialise the model by reading the geological descriptions and using our algorithm to generate initial customisable groupings.

3. Customise your 2D section, download it as a PDF or DXF file

You can customise the selection radius of the section, enable and disable boreholes from appearing within the selection radius, customise the groupings we initially generated and add your own custom groupings, you can even change the ground level however needed.

We aimed to cut the time taken for generating these 2D sections from days to minutes. Extracting data automatically from geotechnical report PDF's and generating 2D sections in two clicks frees up Geotechnical Engineers for studying more options and adding more value to their projects rather than spending their time on manual data processing.
